Tanker Wash Types
JPA TYPE 1
Basic, customer-specified, simple discretionary rinse (no ATP test or seals applied this wash only).
JPA TYPE 2 or KOSHER TYPE 2 MAINTENANCE (example)
Water-based food products. Tankers are pre-rinsed thoroughly with warm water, washed with a hot water food-grade cleanser above 160°F for 15 minutes, rinsed thoroughly, then finished with a low temperature sanitizing rinse. Suitable for maintaining a tanker vessel in Kosher status.
JPA TYPE 3 or KOSHER TYPE 3 MAINTENANCE
Water and oil mixtures & oil-based products. Tankers are pre-rinsed thoroughly with warm water, washed with a food-grade degreaser solution above 160°F for 15 minutes, a food-grade cleanser above 160°F for another 15 minutes, rinsed thoroughly, then finished with a low temperature sanitizing rinse. Suitable for maintaining a tanker vessel in Kosher status.
JPA TYPE 4/5
Specialized wash. Special cleaning guidelines for certain ingredients (such as allergens). Tankers are rinsed thoroughly with warm water, washed with a food-grade degreaser solution above 170°F for 15 minutes, a food-grade cleanser above 170°F for another 15 minutes, rinsed thoroughly at 208°F, then finished with a low temperature sanitizing rinse.
KOSHER TYPE 4/5 UPGRADE (example)
Specialized wash. Special cleaning guidelin es for oil-based food ingredients, and for load locations that can only receive products certified as Kosher. Tankers are rinsed thoroughly with warm water, washed with a food-grade degreaser/detergent solution above 190° for 20 minutes, rinsed thoroughly above 195° for another 20 minutes, then finished with a low temperature sanitizing rinse. For Kosherizing tanker vessels not currently in Kosher status, expired, and/or are required to be certified as Kosher.
